Pokemon Go Best Attacking Team

This tool allows users to input up to 6 defending Pokemon and receive back a suggestion for their attacking team.

Defenders' weaknesses are shown. The tool finds attackers that are most likely to deal high damage based on defender weaknesses.

This tool assumes that the attacking Pokemon is using moves that match at least one of its types. E.g. a Squirtle (Water) is assumed to be using a Water attack. If your Squirtle instead has Scratch (Normal), this is not optimal.

If you are getting suggestions for Pokemon you don't have (Mewtwo) you can use your preferences to remove Pokemon you don't want to be suggested.

Equally, if your only Charmander has a Normal type move, you can de-select Charmander to receive suggestions for Fire Pokemon that do have a matching type move in your collection.

The tool first attempts to find the highest hitting attacker for each selected defender. If there are many potential attackers at the same level of damage, then the tool will look for Pokemon that also have potential to hit other defenders hard. E.g. If you select Defender 1 = Arcanine and Defender 2 = Diglet, any Ground, Rock or Water attacker would hit Arcanine equally hard, but the tool will suggest Water Pokemon since Diglett is also weak to water.

As a priority, the tool will attempt to find the best possible Attacker(x) to match Defender(x) in a 1v1 battle. This is the "1v1 Score".

As a secondary goal the "Team Score" shows how well that attacking Pokemon will do against the whole defending team. If every defender is a Bug Pokemon, there will be large "Team Scores" for a Fire Pokemon.

This box shows the DPS of the associated move.

The tool factors in the known Base Attack Power for each possible attacker and combines this with information based on the Pokemon Go Type Chart.

This "Team Suggest" tool is simpler than the "Best Attacker" in some ways, and much more complex in others. The bottom line is, if you want quick, "good-enough" suggestions for many defenders, use this tool. If you want to know the absolute best possible attacker known to exist in the game for a single defender, use "Best Attacker".

"Best Attacker" takes into account the known moves that defending Pokemon have to also find Attackers that are less likely to take damage from the defender. "Team Suggest" does not look at the possible moves of the defenders, it only looks to maximise attacking damage and does not attempt to minimise damage coming in from defenders.

"Best attacker" looks across all observed combinations of moves and Pokemon. This tool doesn't look at individual moves, and just looks at Pokemon known to have a fast/charge move that matches at least one of their types.
